The older I get, the less I want to express my feelings publicly, so I stopped writing. I am writing today because I am concerned about the future of China's political system.

The constitutional amendment passed almost unanimously. Is Chinese history going backward? I think it is. Chairman Xi's continuation in office should be inevitable; there is no need to wait for 2023 to know he will keep serving, or there would be no reason to amend the constitution. A country needs a strong leader, but one should not change a country's constitution to serve one's own ideals and ambitions, whatever the purpose.

I oppose it! Even though that does not do a damn thing.
